I've heard of these loon groupings you see in the fall called a loon convocation. They gather together before migrating south. We love our loons in Maine, the different cries and calls are a part of our soul.
The artist, Milton Christianson, travels around the Moosehead and Katahdin regions, camping and painting. He has homesteaded in Wellingon for almost 50 years, a small remote town South of Greenville.
