My Daughter Made Me Do It (But I'm happy she did).

I'm changing my shipping  charges. I knew shipping was killing my profit, I would pay $17.00 to ship a crate to the West Coast, or to a Southern state, and knew that it was every penny of my profit on that sale.  My middle daughter, who has extensive experience in retail shipping, put her foot down.  "You're not making any money", she said.  "I know", I agreed.  "You're not Amazon, you can't do free shipping", she continued.  "I know", I agreed.  "We charge $35. to ship cheese from California to the East Coast", she told me.  Wow, I thought, I guess my $6.95 flat rate really doesn't make sense.

My kitchen in November & December, my warehouse got too cold.

It's second nature for me to want to make shopping with us as painless as possible, to give everyone a good deal.  I'm just like that.   But if this business is to survive, I have to be more sensible.

I started this business because I wanted to give, to my local economy.  Our region is "rebranding" itself, and when that process started I thought to myself, "these businesses don't need a week or two at either end of the tourist season, they need to get online and sell year round".  So I studied the industry, taught myself (and I am still learning) what I needed for ecommerce, and here I am, approaching the 2nd year mark.

New, this month, I'm adding the option of your "Gift Crate" products to be sent in the pine crate, or a locally sewn canvas bag, your choice.

So now, the shipping costs will be based on the weight of the order.  I will tweak it as necessary, if you notice something crazy like a $15. shipping cost for a 1# product, please help me out by letting me know.  I'm only a phone call away, 207.280.0817, or email, jchasse10@gmail.com.  I still want to make it as painless as possible for you, but I've got to cover the shipping costs.

On a happier note, a huge thank you to all our customers since we began, and to our new ones in the future.  And from our family to yours, may 2017 bring you peace and contentment.  Janet & Brian Chasse
