Moosehead Lake Glass

Has a glimmer of color ever caught your eye on a shoreline?  You might pick it up, tuck it away, or throw it away so no one steps on it.  I've done both, but will never throw one away again.  Now that I've seen what Nicole Saddler can create with those bits of glass, I'll be giving the ones I find to her.  Although she does have plenty, Nicole has been picking up those pieces for years, and tucking them away.

About 14 years ago Nicole's brother gave her a roll of jewelry wire, and told her "she'd figure it out".  She started with mobiles, moved on to jewelry, and now has a shop full of intricate custom pieces.  Nicole has lived in Greenville for over 28 years, and opened a shop 3 years ago, Saddler's Maine Made, on 409 Pritham Avenue

Nicole loves her work, "gets in her own world", as she creates each piece.  When you ask about the colors of the glass, her face lights up, as she explains where each might have come from.  She recognizes the types of glass from different time periods, and what type of bottle the glass most likely came from.  She has glass from all over the world, but keeps the Moosehead glass seperate, which are the pieces we will carry on Moosehead Marketplace.  Enjoy!
