In the winter or early spring, people in Maine search the woods for moose antler drops.  If you find them before the mice or porcupines chew them up, they can be used for a variety of purposes, including Tim Messier's crafts.  He slices and polishes the antlers, then makes these compasses.  The art work is also his.  He also uses burls, a natural wood deformity, to make the other compasses.

When you order, I can email you a photo of the ones we have in stock, so you can choose which one you want.

I love this! It was received 2 days after I krdered it. It will make a great gift for someone who goes snowmobiling, hiking, hunting etc. It is small enough to fit on a lapel or in a shirt pocket.

I had previously bought 2 of the smaller antler compasses as gifts and loved them.
When I saw these larger ones I had to order one for myself and am even more pleased with it. A quality product and well worth the price.

    Antler compass

Janet was kind enough to send me an email to explain the difference in size (see my other review) Because the maker works with antlers available that is why the ones I bought are smaller. The price was adjusted because of this and the ones I got are still beautiful.
I am going to order another one for myself.
As I said in my other review they are a must have, especially if you are into hiking.

    Antler comoass

Ordered 2 to give to our grandsons as part of their Christmas present. They look great and are very well made.
Not quite as big as the ones pictured but I'm sure they have to work with whatever antlers they find, which makes them all unique.
    Would definitely recommend buying these.
