These pitchers were designed for maple syrup, but of course can be used for anything, even to hold flowers.  They vary a bit in size, but hold between 20 and 24 ounces.  The base is 3 inches, the top opens to 3 1/2 to 4 inches, and they are about 5 inches tall.

Andrew Heiny has owned and operated Round Island Pottery since 2018.  He first became interested in making pottery after finding clay in a stream bank and experimenting with it.  After that he bought a potter's wheel and started practicing with it.  6 years later, he now lives in Ellsworth Maine from where he also attends the University of Maine.

Every pottery piece made at Round Island Pottery starts from a ball of wet clay.  The body of the piece is first shaped on the potter's wheel.  When it is dry enough, the handle and other features are attached.  Next the piece is fired, dipped in glaze, and refired to around 2200 degrees fahrenheit.  The finished piece is oven, microwave, and dishwasher safe.

    Maple Syrup Pitcher

I received my pitcher yesterday. It is so much prettier than the photos! They just can't do it justice. It's a perfect size and I love the brown color with the maple leaf. When I'm not serving breakfast, I think it will be perfect to display. Love, love, love it!
